General Gymnastics Timetable - Afterschool & Saturday Classes

Tasters Minis 

45-minute class

Classes for 4- & 5-year-olds who are ready for a structured lesson and level progression.

Parent participation is optional

Gym Taster Mini’s classes cover all the Foundation Movement patterns and basic gymnastics skills needed to start a base for all our gymnastics level classes.

This class offers gymnasts their first taste of gymnastics. The class begins with a gymnastics game and basic stretch. Gymnasts then break into small groups and rotate around  apparatus stations such as vault, bar, beam, floor, rings, pbars and/or trampoline. The class ends with a gymnastics-based game or activity. This class is focused on developing key fundamental movement patterns (swing, spring, locomotion, rotation, landings, statics and manipulative skills) that can be transferred to any sport.

Class Times:

Thursday 3.30pm - 4.15pm (Ages 4 & 5 years Unisex) 

Saturday 9.30am - 10.15am (Ages 4 - 5 years Unisex)

*gymnasts that are 3 years old and have been attending Gym Tots for an extended period of time may be able to attend Tasters Minis with coach approval 

Tasters 

60-minute Class

Class options for Beginners ages 5 - 13 years

Gym Taster’s classes cover all the Foundation Movement patterns and basic gymnastics skills needed to start a base for all our gymnastics level classes.

This class offers gymnasts their first taste of gymnastics. The class begins with a gymnastics game and basic stretch. Gymnasts then break into small groups and rotate around apparatus stations such as vault, bar, beam, floor, rings, pbars and/or trampoline. The class ends with a gymnastics-based game or activity. Gymnasts can stay in Tasters anywhere from 1 - 4 Terms.

Wednesday 3.30pm - 4.30pm (Ages 8 - 13 years Girls)

Friday 3.30pm - 4.30pm (Ages 5 - 8 years Unisex) 

Saturday 10.15am - 11.15am (Extended ages 5 - 10 years Unisex) 

Gymnastics Club Levels 

For gymnasts who have already completed all the Skill’s in the foundation level classes or have previous gym experience and can complete the foundation skill list. These classes are club class levels 1 - 5 plus and at each Level gymnasts will work towards a set of skills further building on the previous skill list.

Coaches will use these Skill lists to ensure gymnasts are being challenged and progressing whilst still enjoying a fun approach to gymnastics. 

Gymnastics 1 - 2

This class is for girls who wish to further develop their skills in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Gymnasts will learn skills on the vault, uneven bars, beam and floor. Strength and flexibility will also be incorporated into the session to allow gymnasts to progress to more advanced skills.

Gymnasts will need to show they can perform all foundation skills before progressing to Gymnastics 1

Gymnastics 1: Saturday 11.15am - 12.15pm (Extended Ages 5 - 10 years Unisex) 

Gymnastics 2: Tuesday 4.30pm - 5.30pm (Ages 5 - 8 years Girls)  

Gymnastics 2: Wednesday 4.30pm - 5.30pm (Ages 8 - 13 years Girls)

Gymnastics 3 - 4

90-minute class

This class is for year 6-8 girls who are starting out in gymnasts or who wish to further develop their skills in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. Gymnasts will learn skills on the vault, uneven bars, beam and floor. Strength and flexibility will also be incorporated into the session to allow gymnasts to progress to more advanced skills. This class also offers the girls a chance to set personal goals of skills that they would like to achieve and the option to learn routines to compete at a local competition.

Advanced Level Recreation: Squads 

Squad Competition Teams

These Squads are by invitation or trial  and are suitable for gymnasts who would like to train to attend regional competitions. Gymnasts learn skills and routines to compete at approximately four Gym For All events throughout the year. Gymnasts will perfect and develop their skills on WAG or MAG apparatus. Strength and flexibility will be incorporated into the session to allow gymnasts to progress onto more advanced skill learning.
